Raindrops

I remember sitting under the tree that summer when you brought the rain. I remember how unlikely it seemed and yet how perfect, how refreshing it felt knowing that you are so mighty and yet so near. You hear the softest thoughts and answer the smallest prayers. Your word reminds me again tonight that it is you who brings the rain. In perfect time each raindrop falls. How many miles does each drop travel as it melts out of a sky of weary clouds?
Another rainy night and here I sit, window open, listening to the raindrops fall. I am tired again... thoughts, words...they always come when I am tired, but the windows of my heart are open and I am filled with joy once again with the reminder that you are mighty and yet so near. How my spirit pines for rest, yet there is so much left to be done before I lay my head down.
Across the grass and in a room a young man studies diligently...pursuing a dream. Perhaps he takes a moment to rest and maybe he faces distraction from time to time, yet day in and day out he works. What is it that drives a man to work so hard? And at the same time, he finds time and strength to love with such amazing love... Only in you Lord, only in you. How blessed we are to taste and see. How blessed we are to work and love. In this season let each drop fall in perfect time...we will listen and take joy.
